Use and Maintenance of Die Casting Machine

1、 Environmental requirements

1) Keep the die-casting machine and its surroundings clean. For magnesium alloy die casting, special attention shall be paid to no smoking and drinking at the work site.

2) The space around the die-casting machine shall be smooth, the ventilation and air exchange equipment shall be in good condition, and the materials and auxiliary appliances used shall be placed according to the requirements of fixed location management. 3) After adding hydraulic oil or lubricating oil, remove the leaked oil as soon as possible.

4) Magnesium alloy furnace operators shall wear safety uniforms, gloves and masks.

5) Work carefully and put safety first. No irrelevant personnel are allowed to enter the operation area.

6) For magnesium alloy die casting workshop, fire protection devices shall be set in obvious areas, such as at least 5 fire extinguishers/set (Class D fire extinguisher), dry salt and sand, dust-free asbestos mat, etc. Special attention: Do not use water, ordinary fire extinguishing powder, foam, CO2, N2 to extinguish the fire!

2、 Operational requirements

1. Before startup

1) Check that the safety door should be flexible, and check that the front and rear safety door limit switches (made in Kyrgyzstan) should be normal: turn on the machine power switch, close the front and rear safety doors, and observe the corresponding output signal lamp of PLC in the electrical box. If the lamp is on, it means normal, and if the lamp is not on, stop the machine to check the corresponding circuit.

2) Check that the emergency stop button is normal, and check that the total pressure of the oil pressure system and the setting of various functional parameters meet the working requirements.

2. Starting

1) It is strictly forbidden to put your hand into the die-casting machine (mold) or take materials from it with bare hands.

2) Without permission, it is not allowed to arbitrarily adjust the machine setting parameters, which should be adjusted by professionals.

3) In case of machine failure or alarm signal, stop the machine immediately, cut off the power supply, open the protective door, and then repair the machine.

4) High quality die casting alloy ingots shall be selected to avoid putting alloy materials containing moisture and oil stains into the furnace.

5) Recycled materials of alloy ingots shall be treated specially to confirm that their chemical composition meets the requirements before reuse. It is not allowed to directly put the slag into the furnace.

3、 Other requirements

1. During mechanical maintenance

1) Do not step on each sheet metal and guide rail.

2) Do not knock any part of the machine with tools.

3) The parts, safety doors and safety shields removed during machine maintenance shall be installed as they are.

2. During maintenance of machine and electrical appliances

1) Cut off the power switch during maintenance.

2) When repairing and replacing hot work pieces, the temperature should be lowered before proceeding.

3) The ground wire and neutral wire of the electrical appliance cannot be removed.

3. Spray rust inhibitor

When the mold (mould) is not used for a long time, a layer of anti rust agent shall be sprayed on the surface of the mold (mould).

4、 Daily inspection items of die-casting machine

1) During emergency shutdown, check whether the power supply of control system and motor can be cut off.

2) Check that the central lubrication system is intact. It should be able to automatically deliver oil when starting up and automatically deliver oil when working according to the set requirements.

3) Check that the furnace temperature control system is normal.

4) The test and inspection shall be conducted in manual/fully automatic states respectively. When the safety door is opened or half opened, the locking (mold) movement shall be terminated.

5) Check that the working pressure of the hydraulic system meets the requirements of the machine specification.

6) Check whether the mould is firmly installed on the fixed base plate and movable base plate.

7) After starting up for a period of time, check the oil temperature. The oil temperature shall not exceed 55 ℃ during long-term operation.

8) Check that the safety door limit switch (made in Kyrgyzstan) is normal.

9) Check that the grounding wire in the main electrical box is intact. (end)
